Bay Area Christian School (BACS) seeks to fulfill the following needs for the 2017-18 school year. Start dates are dependent on specific duties posed by each individual position and may vary accordingly. Qualified candidates for faculty positions would be those who confess Christ and exhibit a Christian lifestyle, have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree, and have at least 24 hours in the specific content discipline advertised. Qualified candidates for substitute teaching positions would be those who confess Christ and exhibit a Christian lifestyle, and have a minimum of 24 hours of college coursework completed. Transcripts are required to verify the completion of coursework – unofficial transcript copies are acceptable. Interested substitute teacher applicants should send completed applications along with college transcripts to Human Resources. Only submissions containing both of the mentioned elements will be processed.

High School Guidance Counselor
Bay Area Christian School is in search of qualified candidates to apply for the role of Guidance Counselor. This position may become vacant towards the end of this summer, and to best prepare for that possibility, applications will be collected and reviewed in a preemptive manner. If the position does become vacant, qualified candidates will be selected for an interview.
The ideal candidate will be a professing Christian with a lifestyle demonstrating their profession, hold a bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field of study, and have academic counseling experience. While spiritual and emotional guidance is part of the job description, the bulk of the job description revolves around the academic planning and collegiate bearings of students. The Guidance Counselor would work with and report to the High School Principal and function in a supervisory role in the principal's absence. His or her oversight in the academic counseling realm would include 7th - 12th grade. Please see the attached job description for additional information.

Part-Time Extended Care Director
Overview: Our Elementary Division has an opening for a part-time Extended Care Director. This position will supervise the activities of students enrolled in our before-school and after-school care program. The ideal candidate will possess supervisory experience in a childcare setting. Hours are Monday through Friday from 6:45 AM to 8:15 AM, and 3:40 PM to 6:15 PM. Competitive hourly rate. Please submit your completed application as directed above.
Full-Time Language Arts Teacher
Overview: The Language Arts Department has an opening for a full-time teacher for our Junior High, which serves our 7th and 8th grade students. The ideal candidate will possess a biblical worldview and a solid knowledge of the core grade-level language arts content. He or she should be adept at inspiring and challenging students to process a rigorous curriculum while demonstrating practical and biblical application. Applicants must commit to accepting and using technology, such as a smartboard and Chromebooks, as a way to integrate the curriculum. The expectation is for the teacher to teach six classes with two given planning periods within the day. There are also opportunities for multiple coaching roles in various sports and/or club sponsorships to accompany this full-time position.
Full-Time Spanish Teacher
Overview: The Spanish Department is in need of filling a full-time position for the high school Spanish, which serves a mixture of students 9th-12th grade. The ideal candidate will possess a biblical worldview and a solid knowledge of the Spanish language, history, and culture. He or she should be adept at inspiring and challenging students to process a rigorous curriculum while demonstrating practical and biblical application. Applicants must commit to accepting and using technology, such as a smartboard and Chromebooks, as a way to integrate the curriculum. The expectation is for the teacher to teach six classes with given planning periods within the day.
