Bay Area Christian School plans to carefully implement School Choice – ESAs beginning with the 2026–2027 school year for current and newly admitted students. As we continue to learn more about school choice in Texas, we will share updates on this web page as they become available.

An ESA is a program that allows eligible families to receive state funds that can be used toward approved educational expenses.
Yes. We will accept ESA funding for newly admitted and current students. The State of Texas has allocated a limited amount of funds for the 2026–2027 school year, meaning not all applicants will receive ESA funding. However, we encourage everyone to apply.
Eligibility is determined by the state, not the school. While we control our admissions process, we do not control which students receive ESA funding. All ESA decisions are made by the State of Texas. Families must apply through the state’s ESA program. Once approved, they may direct those funds to cover tuition at BACS. Any family who applies for BACS tuition assistance must first apply for the State ESA.
No. ESA funding from the State does not guarantee admission. Our admissions process and the State’s ESA distribution process are completely separate.
Distribution details are not yet available. We will share updates as soon as the State releases more information.
No. All ESA funding decisions are made by the State of Texas.
Not necessarily.
- Some families may receive ESA funds that replace school-provided financial aid.
- All families applying for BACS tuition assistance must first apply for State ESA funds.
As always, we will continue to uphold our rigorous admissions standards for both academics and behavior. All families must complete our standard admissions application process. ESA eligibility does not guarantee admission; space and admissions criteria still apply.
