Bay Area Christian School plans to carefully implement Texas Education Freedom Accounts (TEFA), beginning with the 2026–2027 school year, for both current and newly admitted students. As we continue to learn more about this program, we will share updates here as they become available.
For more information, visit the Texas Private School Association (TPSA) website: https://texasprivateschools.org.
A TEFA is a program that allows eligible families to receive state funds that can be used toward approved educational expenses.
Yes. We will accept TEFA funding for newly admitted and current students. The State of Texas has allocated a limited amount of funds for the 2026–2027 school year, meaning not all applicants will receive TEFA funding. However, we encourage everyone to apply.
Eligibility is determined by the state, not the school. While we control our admissions process, we do not control which students receive TEFA funding. All TEFA decisions are made by the State of Texas. Families must apply through the state’s TEFA program. Once approved, they may direct those funds to cover tuition at BACS. Any family who applies for BACS tuition assistance must first apply for the State TEFA.
No. TEFA funding from the State does not guarantee admission. Our admissions process and the State’s TEFA distribution process are completely separate.
Distribution details are not yet available. We will share updates as soon as the State releases more information.
No. All TEFA funding decisions are made by the State of Texas.
Not necessarily.
- Some families may receive TEFA funds that replace school-provided financial aid.
- All families applying for BACS tuition assistance must first apply for State TEFA funds.
As always, we will continue to uphold our rigorous admissions standards for both academics and behavior. All families must complete our standard admissions application process. TEFA eligibility does not guarantee admission; space and admissions criteria still apply.
