August 20 Head of School Weekly Update
Dear Bronco Family,
It’s hard to believe this is my 20th year in Christian education! This summer, I found myself reflecting on the many seasons of my time at BACS and at University Christian in Jacksonville, Florida. There have been so many “God moments” along the way, and it’s incredible to look back and see His hand throughout my career. I’m especially grateful for the many teachers and administrators I’ve had the privilege of serving alongside over the years.
Recently, I was reminded of a moment from years ago when I served as the Jr. High Principal here at BACS. It was evaluation season, and I was spending a lot of time in classrooms observing our teachers. I remember walking away from those evaluations incredibly grateful after watching our teachers guide, challenge, and care for our students. I thought to myself, I can’t wait for my own kids to be under the guidance of these teachers someday.
Just this past week, I was walking through classrooms across campus, and that same feeling came over me. We have amazing teachers! As a parent, I’m incredibly grateful to have these men and women teaching, encouraging, and pouring into my kids.
Parents, thank you for trusting us with your child’s education. I can assure you that they are surrounded by some of the best teachers around.
Here are a few exciting updates from around campus:
AP Scores — Last spring, 59 BACS students took AP Exams through the College Board. Check out these numbers: those 59 students took a combined 133 exams, with 88% earning a score of 3 or higher on the 1–5 AP scale. Even more exciting, 51 of those students have been at BACS for six or more years. All of these numbers are BACS records!
Campus Upgrades — If you’re an elementary parent, I’m sure you’ve heard about our new playground equipment! Funding for this project came from last fall’s Fun Run, and it’s exciting to see those efforts come to life. We’ve also completed several other projects across campus that we’ll be highlighting soon and expressing gratitude to the groups who helped us accomplish these initiatives.
Chapel — Parents are always invited to attend chapel services on campus. It was great yesterday to be back together worshiping and diving into God’s Word. We’d love to have you join us!
