Dear Bronco Family,
I pray your school year is off to a great start!
The first day of school is one of my favorite days. It started with our Senior class praying together at sunrise on the front lawn and quickly went into our daily routine from there. It is amazing to walk the campus and see how quickly things snap into order after the first bell. Our older students find their way pretty quickly, but that is not the case for everyone.
All over campus students were learning rituals and routines. While making my rounds, I passed by teachers who were patiently instructing the little ones on how to properly hold a door so others can safely pass through. It struck me that these students needed basic instruction on things we take for granted. You could also tell that the students loved it and took it seriously. I have no doubt that they will move orderly and safely through doors this school year!
A couple of lessons struck me as I walked away. First, there is beauty in helping others. These students were not worried about the economy or other things happening in the world, they were simply focused on holding the door for others. Thinking of others takes your mind off a fallen world and feeds your spirit. Second, learning new things is fun. It speaks to our being. If you feel stress about the world, challenge yourself to learn something new. Our minds were created to grow.
What a joy it was to be back in Chapel with our students this week. I’m very grateful to serve at a school that is committed to spending time each week in worship and diving into God’s Word. Finally, we are looking forward to having breakfast on Friday morning with our Very Involved Parents. Our parents continue to be the most generous and supportive people and we look forward to fellowshipping with you all.
It’s a great day to be a Bronco!
