February 26 Head of School Weekly Update

by Les Rainey on February 26, 2026

Dear BACS Families,

Recently, as I was mindlessly scrolling through my phone one evening, old photos began popping up in my memories. In an instant, I was fully engaged, seeing snapshots of my family through various stages of life. When our kids were younger, Christmases and vacations looked very different than they do now.

As I reminisced, a photo of our oldest appeared—from his first day of preschool, to his first day of kindergarten, to breaking his arm at football camp in second grade. But the photo that truly caught me off guard was one my wife snapped of me teaching him how to shave. And now here we are—Lord have mercy—we’re in the driver’s ed stage of life. Where did the time go?

I’ve often heard parents with older children say, “Enjoy this season of life,” because that’s exactly what it is—a season, and it’s fleeting. While I felt sentimental looking through those photos, I also felt deeply blessed. I know the kind of people who have been pouring into my children while they are away from me—the teachers, staff, directors, and coaches who are faithfully answering the call to serve in Kingdom education. Parents, whatever season of parenting you’re in, my encouragement to you is to embrace it. Don’t allow temporary or worldly distractions to keep you from leading your family in a biblical manner.

We are grateful to walk alongside you here at Bay Area Christian School. Relish every moment with your family this weekend. And remember, it’s a great day to be a Bronco!
