November 20 Head of School Weekly Update
Dear BACS Family,
This is the season of thanksgiving. In the United States, the Wampanoag tribe and English colonists shared a harvest feast in 1621, which years later became a National Day of Thanks first proclaimed by George Washington in 1789. It was later established as an annual national holiday by Abraham Lincoln in 1863 and officially signed into law by Franklin D. Roosevelt in 1941, designating the fourth Thursday of November as Thanksgiving.
As we pause and set aside the busyness of the season, we are reminded of the countless blessings God has graciously given us. As both an administrator and a parent of BACS students, I am deeply grateful that our children learn in an environment rooted in biblical truth—one that disciples, influences, and educates from a Kingdom foundation. “I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth” (3 John 1:4). Our prayer is that when our students leave this campus, they will have a growing desire to hear and obey God.
As you take time to pause during this season, what are you thanking God for?
Here are a few “did you knows” to keep you updated on what’s happening across the Bronco community:
We recently received PSAT results for our 9th–11th graders from October’s testing, and I’m pleased to share that our Broncos once again scored well above both state and national averages—and even above recent BACS averages!
- Tuition information will be announced in early December, and the re-enrollment period will run from January 1–14. We also plan to accept the Texas Education Freedom Accounts. As more details become available, we will share them.
- The Bay Area Education Foundation, established this summer as a 501(c)(3), exists to support those who make Kingdom education possible—our faculty, staff, and students. Please take a moment to learn how you can get involved by visiting their website.
This Friday marks one of our largest and most meaningful events of the year as we welcome and celebrate the grandparents of our students. We anticipate hosting more than 800 guests on campus!
A friendly reminder that all students will dismiss at noon on Friday, and offices will close at 1:00 p.m. All school offices will be closed during the following week and will reopen on December 1. Once we return, only three weeks remain in the first semester!
It’s a great day to be a Bronco!
