September 17 Head of School Weekly Update

Dear BACS Family,

This week, we wrapped up a wonderful Spiritual Emphasis Week led by our very own High School Bible teacher, Pastor Michael Williams. Throughout the week, our students walked through Psalm 139 together. If you haven’t spent time in that passage lately, I would highly encourage you to do so.

It’s difficult to read Psalm 139 without being humbled by the reality that the omniscient and omnipotent King of the universe is also an intimate Creator who knows us completely and knit each of us together with purpose and intentionality. Who does that? A God who loves us and cares deeply for us.

When there is design, there is purpose. And when our students begin to understand that they were intentionally created by God, it shapes the way they see themselves, others, and the world around them. That is at the heart of what we mean when we talk about developing a biblical worldview. What a wonderful week it has been on our campus!

As I close this week, I also want to put a couple of things on your radar for the future. Although the Texas Education Freedom Accounts application period has closed for this school year, I strongly encourage our families to make it a priority to apply when funding becomes available again next year. More than 20% of our BACS students received TEFA funding this year.

Additionally, beginning in 2027, a new federal tax credit scholarship program will provide another opportunity to support families pursuing private Christian education. Under the program, taxpayers will be able to receive a federal tax credit for qualifying contributions to approved Scholarship Granting Organizations, which can then provide scholarship assistance to eligible families. There are still details to be worked out as implementation approaches, but we are actively learning about this opportunity and will keep our families informed as more information becomes available.

We recognize the investment and sacrifice many of our families make to provide a BACS education for their children. Whenever opportunities or resources become available that may help make Kingdom Education more accessible, we want to make sure you know about them.
