We are thrilled to focus on Mrs. Suela Roberts for this week’s “Focus on the Faculty & Staff”! Your name: Suela Roberts Position at BACS: ELA Teacher Hometown and high school you graduated from: Durres, Albania, and my high school is “Naim Frasheri” What is your testimony? I was born and raised in Albania, in a time where my country was still under communism and religion was not allowed. (Communism fell in 1991-1992) I had heard about a God, but didn’t really have a relationship with Him. After I finished high school I was looking to start some English classes so I could get a certificate in English (coming from a small country where the competition is brutal you must have as many qualifications you can get your hands on to have a decent job in the future). One day I saw this commercial on a local TV station, “Free English classes”, Church of Christ. Through all this time God had been calling me mostly through dreams, even though I didn’t really understand them or know this Christian God I decided to go to this Church to “study English”, after all it was for free :). I ended up studding the Bible for almost a whole year before I said yes to Jesus in baptism in August of 2002. On September 15th of 2005 I started working from my Church full time as a secretary and teaching Sunday Bible Classes and later on I was involved in pretty much in every ministry our Church had. God is good...all the time! Family, hobbies, fun facts, etc.: My husband and I met in the Summer of 2010, in Albania. WE have been married for 13 years and have two beautiful kids. Our daughter Isena is 11 years old and our son Ian is 9 years old. Now we live in League City where most of our family is. We love going on short trips exploring historical sights. Our goal is to explore a new sight almost every month. How long have you worked at BACS? This is my fourth year here at BACS. Why do you love working at BACS? Since I was little I wanted to be a teacher or singer. God has a great humor and was like “Here you go…you get to teach to little kids and sing to them all day!” I get to teach my little friends not just the ABC’S but the importance of Jesus Christ! We love you, Mrs. Roberts! 🐴❤️
