Our 7th graders recently visited the San Felipe de Austin Historic Site near Sealy. Students were able to walk in the footsteps of the early pioneers and enjoy hands-on learning. 🐴

Happy Chapel Wednesday, Broncos! Today our elementary chapel heard from our Director of Student Support, Mike Ammons. He shared from a storybook about how despite our differences we are called to love one another. In our secondary chapel Bay Area’s Lead Pastor, Brian Haynes, also spoke on loving our neighbor and our enemies because we are all made in the image of God. Our Faculty Focus this week is on Coach McCabe! Position at BACS: K-4th Grade Physical Education Teacher, Junior High Girls Basketball Coach Hometown and high school you graduated from: Shreveport, Louisiana- Southwood High School What is your career experience? I have taught Elementary PE in public school, was a stay at home mom for 12 years, and have taught here at BACS since 2013. Share your testimony! When I was a teenager, I had a friend group that was very active in church. They started inviting me to youth group events and church services. I started attending these events and started learning about God and how to have a personal relationship with Jesus. I accepted Christ as my Lord and Savior when I was 16 years old. I have gone through many challenges in my life and I’m not sure how I would have handled these things without my relationship with Christ. He gives me a peace that surpasses all understanding. My favorite verse is Ephesians 3:20 - “Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us.” Tell us about your family, hobbies, fun facts, and/or anything else you want us and our socials to know! I have been married to my high school sweetheart, Brian, for 31 years. We have a 22-year-old son, Hunter, and an 18-year-old daughter, Hannah. I enjoy watching all sports (especially the Broncos), attend Bay Area Church, have a sweet tooth, and love eating chips and salsa. How long have you been working at BACS? This is my 13th year. Why do you love working at BACS? BACS is a special place. I love that we can pray and share our faith with students and families. I really enjoyed having my kids attend BACS while I was teaching here and seeing them throughout the day. I love keeping my students active and teaching them sport skills, but my favorite thing to teach is good sportsmanship - how to be a good sport when winning and losing. I also love to watch my past students play sports for the Broncos when they get to junior high and high school.
